Teaching

Alongside his work as a performing and recording instrumentalist, Richard is an experienced and passionate teacher, keen to see others fulfilled and inspired through music as he has been. Since receiving his Masters Qualification from the Guildhall School of Music, Richard has been teaching in a variety of settings across London. Currently, he works with a number of organisations delivering workshops and lessons to both adults and children.

Richard is also a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, teaching Jazz String players.

Richard is available for private lessons in the following areas:

Other community projects Richard has been involved with include working with the ‘Young Carers’ charity, running workshops for the elderly and leading improvisation classes with young string players.

Please get in touch for any further information about lessons and workshops that Richard can offer.

It remains very difficult for violinists in jazz contexts to step outside the shadow of ‘Gypsy Jazz’ but Richard Jones appears to have arrived on an entirely different road. He has a musical voice all his own.
